Scolt Head Island can be reached only by boat at high tide. It’s part of an ever-changing stretch of sand dunes and marsh that has actually grown over the past 50 years as sands shift and tides change. The hut is used by surveyors from time to time. They come to measure the changes in the landscape. Jon Brown of Branta Cruises, with his boat the Laura May, takes groups out to the island, a National Nature Preserve off of the Norfolk coast near Brancaster Staithe in England.
